Our Mission
At Shredy, we simplify the SR&ED process for Canadian technology and research companies. Our goal is to empower businesses to confidently navigate SR&ED eligibility and submission, reducing uncertainty around what qualifies for this essential government program.
While we currently offer Shredy at an operating loss, we believe in the importance of making SR&ED more accessible and transparent for Canadian innovators.
Why SR&ED Matters
The SR&ED program is Canada’s leading initiative to help businesses secure funding for innovation, with approximately $3 billion in claims annually. Nearly 15% of that goes to consultants—around $450 million every year. The complexity of filing SR&ED claims makes hiring professional consultants a logical choice, but the process can be made more efficient.
Our solution leverages the latest advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs), cloud computing, and AI agents to reduce the complexity of SR&ED filings while improving accuracy and compliance.
What We’re Building
Our focus is on automating key parts of the SR&ED process, particularly technical writing. We are developing tools to:
- Enhance SR&ED eligibility and knowledge. We recognize that tools like the CRA’s SALT are valuable, but we’re working to offer even more confidence in determining what qualifies.
- Streamline technical writing. The core of Shredy lies in transforming technical writing. LLMs, while powerful, require careful tuning and guidance to accurately generate the right content without straying off course. Our AI agents are designed to understand the nuances of your company’s technical landscape, reducing the risk of human error even in complex fields.
- Improve financial tracking. This is still a work in progress and requires human input. We expect to see major improvements in this area.
- Simplify filling in the T661 form and related schedules. The overarching goal. We want to remove friction and increase confidence in SR&ED. But this will take time.
LLMs are not flawless. They can generate inaccurate information if prompted incorrectly. At Shredy, we are optimizing how LLMs work within the SR&ED framework, ensuring a more reliable and compliant output.
Data Privacy and Usage
Please review our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions for details on how we handle your data. We use the data you provide to improve Shredy’s accuracy, but do not input confidential information—it will be deleted. Over time, our tools will improve, much like autonomous vehicles have with time and dedication.
We also have a zero-tolerance policy for misuse. If we detect that a user is generating ineligible reports for SR&ED, we will notify them and delete their account. While we strive to enhance SR&ED submissions, the final responsibility for compliance lies with the user.
